The club is open to any 4th-8th grade Emereau students wanting to learn to play the sport of Ultimate Frisbee. The main goal of the club is to promote fair play, sportsmanship, problem solving  and develop athletic skills.

 

The second goal of the club is being able to field one or more middle school teams. The teams may have an opportunity to scrimmage other schools and participate in the yearly NC Middle School Championships. 

 

The club will meet once a week afterschool from 3:45-5pm, weather permitting.

 

Middle School Club Team

Students must be a 6-8th grader to play in any competitive matches with other schools. Currently 4th and 5th grade participants will NOT be allowed to play in any competitive games or official tournaments with other schools.

Cost and Transportation

The Ultimate Frisbee club is not an Emereau Athletic team and is not financially supported by the athletic department. 

*Therefore all transportation to and from matches and practices are the responsibility of the players parents.

*Any costs to play in tournaments is the responsibility of the parents. 

* Food costs associated with tournaments and matches are the responsibility of the parent.

Uniforms 

If uniforms are necessary, we have two routes to proceed. 

1. They are the players & parents responsibility. (A basic screen printed uniform / tee  could range from $20- $50  per player.)  

2. We fundraise for the uniforms, the school pays for them and they are the property of the school.

Cost:

If you are participating in the Triangle Ultimate 2024-25 Winter Middle School Season or Wake Weekend Middle School League, this Championship Tournament is included as part of your Triangle Ultimate registration.

All other teams - $100 a team. All players are required to have a 2025 USA Ultimate Affiliate Membership ($18 each)

we are tentatively planning on $25 a player for all out-of-region teams

 

WHO & FORMAT: 

ALL Middle School Teams! This year we will have THREE DIVISIONS. Play is 5V5 for all divisions. 

• COED Division: 4/1 or 3/2 gender ratio, Offense dictates

• BOYS/OPEN Division: no gender requirements on the field

• DEVELOPMENTAL DIVISION: For new/beginner teams. Unlimited rules timeouts as needed

Exact schedule format will depend on the number of teams. All teams should expect 4-6 games throughout the day, most likely pool play before the lunch break and bracket play after the lunch break.

FAQ

Do I need to be at every practice? No, make the practices on Fridays when you can.

​

I play Middle School sports. Can I also play on the Frisbee team? Yes, if you have your parents permission and Frisbee does not interfere with your school sport responsibilities.

I’ve never thrown a frisbee before, can I play? Yes we will help you to learn how to throw a frisbee and the game of Ultimate.
